Project 30x3K

30 Summits • +3000m Elevation • 30th Birthday Challenge

The Challenge

To celebrate my 30th birthday, I have set a personal goal: reaching 30 peaks above 3,000 meters (and below 4,000m) in a single ski mountaineering season. This project is a tribute to the mountains, endurance, and the changing conditions of the Alps. The snow has always produce a fascination for me. This always produce an effect to see how this type of precipitation can make evolve the landscape for such a long type. As a kid I was spending a lot of time building igloos and snowmen after every snowfall.

Growing up and going to the mountains made me realize there are places where the snow is for almost the whole year present. Of course the snowpack evolves with the seasons and doesn't always provide the right conditions for building a snowman. However, high-mountain activities offer the chance to spend more time closer to this magnificent element which make mountains look clean and quiet after a storm.

The list is dynamic, evolving with the snowpack, weather windows, and the partners sharing the rope. It's not just about the numbers, but about the tracks left behind and the stories gathered along the way. This journey through the Alps aims to show that there are as many ways to go out in the mountains as there are mountaineers.
